According to Mind Tools (n.d.) “Communication is only successful when both the sender and the receiver understand the same information as a result of the communication” ("Mind Tools," n.d., p. 1) . Importantly, if this flow of information is accurately receivable, then there is less chances of misunderstandings and confusion. Social Media’s Influence on Policy Issues       The use of social media will help me to influence important policy decisions in reference to early family and childhood intervention. The two types of social media used to communicate early intervention will be You Tube and prime time television commercials. The reason for using You Tube is because if my policy issue receives a lot of reviews with a survey attached about how people feel about the issue then it will communicate and reach policy makers in local, state, and federal government. The benefit in using this social medium is that it will reach millions of people and policy makers are often looking for faster ways to get public opinion. The challenge will be making sure policy makers are aware of the results from the survey and the number of responses to the issues. Course Goals

 Course Goals      My current understanding of policies and systems is that there is a large spectrum of people involved in making decisions, implementing strategies, and providing research for early childhood. It does not consist only of children, families, teachers, staff, and administrators inside the school but external stakeholders as well. The continuum of early childhood includes systems and subsystems. These systems and subsystems play major roles in building frameworks for early education.            My first obtainable goal through this course that might assist me in becoming more effective in my professional role is to become an active advocate for children’s rights on local, state, and national issues and policies concerning young children and their families.      How will this goal assist me in becoming more effective in my professional role?
